Critical Emergency Warning Signs in Pets

If your pet shows any of the following conditions, severe trauma, breathing difficulties, wheezing, open-mouth panting, ingestion of toxins, severe bleeding or anemia, signs of shock, acute allergic reactions, inability to urinate or blood in the urine, persistent vomiting or diarrhea, seizures, convulsions, collapse, unresponsiveness, severe organ failure, heatstroke, sudden loss of energy, prolonged loss of appetite, or unusual lethargy, seek emergency care immediately.​


Critical Emergency Warning Signs in Pets

 
如出現嚴重外傷、呼吸困難、氣喘、張口喘氣、誤食毒物、嚴重出血或貧血、休克徵狀、急性過敏反應、無法排尿或出現血尿、嘔吐 / 腹瀉不停、抽筋、癲癇發作、昏迷或無反應、嚴重器官衰竭、中暑、突然無活動力 / 持續拒食 / 異常嗜睡等情況，要盡快去急症室檢查！

What Pet Owner Can Do

  • Safely restrain your pet
    Gently wrap them in a towel to limit movement and prevent further injury.
  • Keep your pet well-ventilated and prevent overheating
    Turn on the air conditioning or open windows, especially if your pet is experiencing heatstroke, panting, or seizures. 
    Note: Do not wrap them too tightly,make sure they can breathe freely.​
  • Imaging & Sample Collection
    Record any abnormal symptoms (e.g., seizures, panting, difficulty urinating) and bring vomit, stool, or any suspicious objects to the hospital.
  • Call the Emergency Department
    This allows the team to prepare emergency facilities as needed, saving valuable time.
  • Do not give medication, induce vomiting, or feed your pet on your own
    Human medications may not be safe for pets, and inducing vomiting incorrectly can actually increase toxin absorption.
