Dr. Maria del Mar Torres Lopez, DVM, PgDip ECC (SA) graduated from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) with a Degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2017.

Following graduation, Dr. Mar completed a rotating internship in 2019 at one of the largest veterinary hospitals in Barcelona, where she gained comprehensive training across multiple disciplines. She has since accumulated 9 years of clinical experience, including several years working in a referral veterinary hospital in Barcelona, managing complex medical cases and emergencies.

Dr. Mar holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Emergency and Critical Care in Small Animals, reflecting her strong commitment to advancing her expertise in emergency medicine. Her primary clinical interests lie in emergency and critical care, where she is passionate about providing timely, life-saving treatment and stabilizing critically ill patients.

Her approach to veterinary medicine is evidence-based and focused on patient welfare, with a strong emphasis on creating a fear-free and low-stress environment for animals during treatment.

Dr. Mar is fluent in Spanish, Catalan, and English, allowing her to communicate effectively with a diverse community of pet owners. She is also planning to become a member of the Hong Kong Veterinary Association (HKVA).

Outside the hospital, Dr. Mar enjoys hiking and travelling, and unwinding at home with her cat Blurry, who keeps her company after long emergency shifts.
